On Sunday 6th October we played for the 6th consecutive year at the Tenterden Folk Festival in Kent. As in previous years, we were billed as The United Folk Orchestra because we also include musicians from East and West Sussex in these concerts. This year we had 30 members from Essex and London and 7 from Sussex. It was an excellent concert in St Mildred’s Church, Tenterden, with a lively audience of 75 to 80 people who seemed to really enjoy themselves – as did we! The organisers have already invited us back, for the seventh time, to the 2020 Festival, probably on Sunday 4th October. Next year we will play as The Yardarm Folk Orchestra though our friends from Sussex will still be invited to join us to make their usual wonderful contribution. Try to come along next time – it is a great day out. We run a coach from the Southend Borough through Hadleigh, Benfleet, Grays and Lakeside for musicians and our supporters. Get in touch if you are interested.
